Below we have an extract from the dedication to king James I of England taken from the Authorized Version Bible of 1611 AD. It is interesting that this dedication is missing from many modern editions of the Authorized Version also known as the Old King James.
Under James I of England the translation of scripture began into the English language for the Authorized Version and it may well be that this is the real reason for the attempted murderous act of the famous Guy Fawkes and his accomplices. Remembered in England on November 5 as Bonfire Night.
